Raining on the Inside

Raining on the Inside

Raining on the Inside
By: Cam Beyenberg

tactile, torrential downpour
raining from ceiling to floor
from crowns to souls to spirits
my being is a floodgate
waiting, ready to be opened
gushing forth a River with no end
a flow of stream steady
rushing over hearts to make ready
a greater Path of justice and peace
matrimony of reality and dreams.

the tension is building
like a leaning tower tilting
in unique beauty and suspension
waiting out the patience games in
active stillness, powered by a current
whose motion is a full circuit
of courage, releasing burdens
emboldening persons as servants
until the overflow cannot be held in

all the walls come crashing

it's like a baptism inside out
removing guilt, shame, fear, doubt
oozing greatness with every tear
permeating joy with every prayer
softening hearts with every word
spoken and flowing like rivers stirred
with emotion, feelings, and ambiguity
yet old faithful continues with integrity
the power of creative imagination
flowing from One source through every nation
embracing and filling with The River
of which I speak and shiver.

alive in the highs and lows of tides
presently aware of future rides
beyond the past hinderances of dry ground
standing upon soil rich and crowned
with the splendor of never ceasing streams
awakening, illuminating my face with beams
of this rain on the inside, this condensation
this absorbing of grace, this sanctification
this bathing in love, this glorification
this River of Life, this acclimation
to a new type of reign
from inside out, my soul's refrain

my whole being is filled with this estuary
occupying my essence with this sanctuary
of headwaters collecting in abundance
correlating in harmony and dance
as I live in and from this waterfall
faithfully furnishing with faith so powerful
that fear is removed and I swim further into the River's start
moving in Love's current into the River's heart.
