My name is Cameron Shepherd Beyenberg and I am a beloved son of the Most High King. I am married to the most amazing and beautiful woman in the world, Abbie. We love doing life, marriage, and ministry together. I am also father to our amazing son, Jacen Judah, and we love every moment of raising this young man. I can’t forget that we also get the privilege of loving on our pups, Shamgar and Gryffindor.
I have served on a number of church staffs in associate, youth, teaching, counseling, school of ministry, and other related pastoral roles. Currently, I’m serving as Co-Lead Pastor at Cucamonga Christian Fellowship in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. I thoroughly enjoy ministry and I find immense joy in introducing people to Jesus and being part of discipleship and equipping as others discover and live unto God’s calling on their lives.
I am a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theology and still love digging into deep theological thought and creative expression of those thoughts—hence this blog.
In my free time you can find me watching any sport, playing with frisbees, running and working out, consuming burritos, and writing creatively through poetry, devotionals, books, and worship music. Thanks for stopping by the site and I look forward to connecting with you!
I believe that every person was made to be loved by God and to love God in return. I would hold that this is each person’s “calling”. The ways in which we both receive and give God’s love is what I would propose to be one’s “destiny”. As I look back on how the Lord has spoken to me through His Word, through Jesus, and through the working of Holy Spirit in my life, I would hold that I best receive God’s love through deep thought and prayerful reflection, and I best give God’s love through creative expression of those ideas. This blog is one of the ways in which I try to creatively express those deep places of loving connection with God.
With that said, the goal of this blog is not to become the most famous writings on the internet, but rather to actively live in my calling and destiny. As part of that, I believe that the follower of Jesus is not only called to love God with their heart, soul, and strength, but also their mind. You will find that on this blog there will be hot topics, challenging and convicting messages, and contemporary issues. My hope is that these writings will inspire you and give you practical ways in which you can fall more in love with Jesus, follow Him more closely, and be empowered to live a more full life in God.
As a note, I want to say that I don’t know everything. I do the best I can to study the Scriptures, read and listen to theology, exegete both the Word of God and my cultural surroundings, and then prayerful reflect on all these things. I bring my experiences, I look to historical tradition, and I think deeply. But in all these things, all I can offer is my “epistemological humility”. That means that I don’t know everything and I humbly submit where I am resolved in the matters I am writing about. I would encourage you to enter this blog with that same posture and to be open to receiving new perspectives for growth and everyday life in Christ Jesus.
Again, thanks for stopping by and God bless you.
